Hothouse Lights

Tin: 0 lumens

Nothing on this shelf changes a tap, a par or a payout. Lumens come from lit benches, the first watering, or one optional ad on the ticket.

• 01A bench is a grid of grow-lamp fittings under misted glass. Tap a fitting: that lamp and the ones above, below, left and right change hands together. Near an edge fewer lamps move — three on an edge, two at a corner.
• 02The round is done when every lamp that can burn is burning. The tally above the bench reads lit / total.
• 03SOME fittings sit under a fern crown. The fronds shade the glass: a crown can never light, it is not part of the round, and no neighbouring tap can change it. Tapping a crown is refused and costs nothing.
• 04Every tap counts, and tapping the same fitting twice only undoes it — which is why par is exact here. It is the shortest round, found by computer before you arrive, never guessed.
• 05Three stars at par, two within two taps past it, one within four. Past the allowance first light catches the bench still dark: the round ends and you may start again free.
• 06Stars pay lumens into the tin: 5, 8 or 12, plus 6 the very first time a bench is lit. Stars never go down and a re-lit bench pays nothing.
• 07The first watering pays 22 lumens once per day. Supplies are cosmetic; the mist can also be borrowed for three benches from an ad.
• 08Two keys are badged AD: wake one vent marks a tap that lies on a shortest round, and a propagation tray is a practice bench worth no stars and no lumens, with two taps of extra slack. Nothing else needs an ad, ever.
